TULSA, Okla. (AP) — A public television station in northeastern Oklahoma plans to access to a new digital broadcast channel devoted to Native American and indigenous content.
RSU-TV, a Claremore-based public television channel owned by Rogers State University, will offer FNX programming beginning on March 1. RSU becomes the 21st affiliate of the network, which will provide an outlet for area tribes to provide content to audiences across the country.
The Tulsa World reports that programming will include the new monthly TV show "Osiyo, Voices of the Cherokee People," produced in Tahlequah by the Cherokee Nation.
The non-commercial channel will feature TV series, feature films, documentaries, short films and public service announcements "reflecting the voices of Native American and indigenous people from around the world."
