Long before Rogers State University, the school on the hill at Claremore, was the Oklahoma Military Academy. This weekend, the OMA alumni association will gather. The reunion coincides with a replica of the Vietnam War Memorial going on display at the school.
The “Wall that Heals” is a three-quarter replica of the Washington, D.C. memorial.

Scheduled to include a 21-gun salute, bi-plane flyover, reading of names of OMA cadets killed in action with ringing of a ceremonial OMA bell for each cadet.

Public ceremony for OMA Alumni Reunion attendees, also open to the public.
The Claremore stop will be among the first to host the new, larger THE WALL THAT HEALS exhibit.
The new exhibit also will include, for the first time in Oklahoma, the ability for visitors also will be able to do name rubbings of individual service member’s names on The Wall.
The Claremore appearance by The Wall That Heals is organized by the Oklahoma Military Academy Alumni Association and RSU. OMA, once known as the West Point of the Southwest, operated for more than five decades on what is now the RSU campus in Claremore. The Wall That Heals is being presented in conjunction with the group’s annual reunion, being held June 8-9 at RSU.
Bringing The Wall That Heals to northeast Oklahoma will allow veterans and families the opportunity to experience the memorial if they have been unable to make the trip to Washington, D.C.
The Wall That Heals and its accompanying mobile education center will be open around the clock from Thursday, June 7, until approximately noon on Sunday, June 10.
