Rose Cousins On Mountain Stage

Mountain Stage
Rose Cousins.

Rose Cousins makes her first appearance on Mountain Stage, recorded live in Charleston, West Virginia. One of Canada's most respected young singer-songwriters, Prince Edward Island native Rose Cousins has garnered numerous awards including a JUNO for Roots & Traditional Album of the Year, two Canadian Folk Music Awards for Best Contemporary Singer, six East Coast Music Awards, three Nova Scotia Music Awards, and three PEI Music Awards. Now living in Halifax, Cousins has performed in Boston for nearly a decade, and is deeply involved in that city's musical community. Not surprisingly, she opens her set with a song by respected Boston-area singer songwriter Lori McKenna. And in a moment of live serendipity, Cousins is joined on stage for her final song, "Stray Birds," by acclaimed roots music group The Stray Birds, who appeared earlier on the same show. They're joined by Asa Brosuus on dobro.
