Tulsa, OK – The show will go on!

Matt Meyer is the executive director of the Tulsa River Parks. Each year it is a struggle to see if enough money can be raised for the annual 4th of July fireworks display along the Arkansas River.

This year, the show will cost $104,000. Meyer says the tight economy has made this year even more difficult. When you water bill arrives from the city you can expect to find a plea.

But Meyer says help is not coming from the usual sources. For example the city of Tulsa cut its 25-thousand dollar contribution to zero. Oneok is on board as the title sponsor for Freedom-Fest 2009.

The fireworks will be launched from the 21st Street Bridge at 9:30p.m. on the 4th of July.
