Robber Shot in Tulsa Credit Union Heist

Google Streetview

A suspected Tulsa credit union robber is hospitalized after being shot by a security guard this afternoon. It happened during an armed robbery of the Tulsa Teacher Credit Union in north Tulsa.

Tulsa Police Officer Leland Ashley says a robber entered the credit union at Pine and Martin Luther King (Cincinnati) this afternoon and jumped over the tellers’ counter and demanded cash. As he was exiting the facility, he was confronted by the guard. The guard fired several shots, but the robber ran away.

A few minutes later, EMSA reported a man with a shooting injury had been located a few blocks away. Police believe that man was the robber. He was taken to the hospital for treatment of his wounds and is under police guard.
