Tulsa, OK – South-bound Highway-169 has now reopened after a traffic accident on the bridge caused a 20-pound piece of concrete to fall from the bridge. It slammed into the windshield of a late model SUV. The driver was taken to the hospital in serious condition.
The expressway, south-bound, was closed, as well as the bridge deck, while the Oklahoma Department of Transportation made repairs. The repair work took about two hours.
Below is an update on the accident from Tulsa Police
Floyd Hughes, dob: 12-23-43 has been identified as the driver who was injured this morning at 4600 N. Highway 169. Mr. Hughes was traveling south on HWY 169 when a piece of concrete crashed through his windshield. A vehicle traveling above the highway hit the bridge and knocked the concrete loose. The driver of that vehicle has been identified as Trisha Marie Salcedo, dob: 05-15-86. The investigation is continuing at this time.
There is no update on the medical condition of Mr. Hughes.
