Road Work to Begin

By KWGS News

Tulsa, OK –

Taking advantage of spring break to work near Memorial High School, the contractor working on East 61st Street between South Yale Avenue and South Sheridan Road will resurface the intersection of East 61st Street and South Hudson Avenue beginning Monday, March 14.

South Hudson Avenue will be closed at East 61st Street during work at the intersection, which will continue through Friday, March 18. The contractor will replace damaged concrete pavement.

Also, a "No Left Turn" sign will be posted on 61st Street at Hudson Avenue. Motorists will not be able to turn left from 61st Street to Hudson Avenue beginning next week through the end of the project, which is scheduled for completion in May.

The Oklahoma Department of Transportation has contracted with Keystone Services Inc. for this $1.2 million project. Construction funding has been received through the American Recovery & Reinvestment Act. This project was first approved by Tulsa voters in the 2006 Third Penny Sales Tax.
