Rigs Unchanged in Oklahoma

HOUSTON (AP) — The number of rigs actively exploring for oil and natural gas in the U.S. fell this week by six, to 1,811.

Houston-based oilfield services company Baker Hughes Incorporated reported Friday that 1,386 rigs were exploring for oil and 424 were searching for gas. One was listed as miscellaneous.

Of the major oil- and gas-producing states, Texas gained two rigs, while the count in Oklahoma was unchanged. West Texas Intermediate crude priced at Oklahoma's Cushing pipeline hub closed the week at $88.91 a barrel.
