Remains Found on Mining Town

Cardin, OK – Skeletal remains found in Ottawa County

CARDIN, Okla. (AP) Ottawa County authorities say skeletal remains have been found in a wooded area near Cardin.

KTUL reports that the remains were found Friday night by two men who then called the sheriff's office.

Authorities say the remains are believed to be that of a white or Hispanic man between the ages of 18 and 35. The remains were sent to the state medical examiner's office to determine a cause of death.

Officials said the remains appear to have been at the scene for at least six months.
