SOUTH BEND, Ind. (AP) John Flanders intercepted a pass in the end zone with 36 seconds left, stopping Notre Dame's final drive yesterday as Tulsa pulled off one of the biggest wins in school history, stunning the Irish 28-27. Kevin Fitzpatrick's 27-yard field goal with 3:23 left put the Golden Hurricane up 28-27.

NORMAN, Okla. (AP) The 11th-ranked Oklahoma Sooners bounced back from their first loss of the season to beat Colorado 43-10 last night. Ryan Broyles broke the school record with 208 yards receiving as part of the biggest passing day in Oklahoma history. Landry Jones threw for a career-high 453 yards and four touchdowns, including three to Broyles.

MANHATTAN, Kan., (AP) No. 20 Oklahoma State's high-powered offense overcame the absence of star wide receiver Justin Blackmon to beat Kansas State 24-14 yesterday. Brandon Weeden threw two touchdown passes for the Cowboys (7-1 overall, 3-1 Big 12). The team scored 17 straight points in the second half.

ARLINGTON, Texas (AP) The Texas Rangers beat the San Francisco Giants 4-2 last night to close to 2-1 in the World Series. Mitch Moreland hit a three-run homer in the second inning, and Josh Hamilton added a solo shot in the fifth for the Rangers. Winner Colby Lewis allowed two runs and five hits in 7 2-3 innings. Neftali Feliz pitched the ninth for the save, completing a five-hitter.
