Wynnewood, OK – There are no initial reports of injuries as an explosion shakes a gasoline refinery near Wynnewood in South Central Oklahoma. Garvin County officials say the blast happened just before daybreak. The facility refines gasoline among other products. The refinery employs about 200-people in a town of less than 3,000.
There have been several explosions and fires at the plant in the past, including one several years ago started by lightning.
The Gary-Williams Energy Corporation purchased the refinery from Kerr-McGee in 1995.
