Rally Set for 19-Year-Old Killed in Tulsa Shooting

KWGS News

TULSA, Okla. (AP) — A rally is planned in Tulsa to call on local law enforcement to fully prosecute two married police officers arrested in the fatal shooting of a 19-year-old man last week.

Family and friends of Jeremey Lake plan to hold Friday's event near where authorities say he was gunned down while walking with his girlfriend— who is the police couple's daughter.

Shannon Kepler was arrested on a first-degree murder complaint. His wife, Gina Kepler, was arrested on a complaint of accessory to murder after the fact. Prosecutors haven't formally charged the Keplers and attorneys representing them have called them model officers devoted to public service and their children.

A police spokeswoman offered condolences to Lake's family and says "there is no harsher" complaint on which investigators could have arrested Shannon Kepler.
