Grove, OK – On Wednesday night, October 7th, 2009, the Oklahoma Bureau of Narcotics (OBNDD) will be holding a public forum to discuss crime and substance abuse in northeastern Oklahoma. The event comes on the heels of a large OBNDD investigation in Ottawa and Delaware counties that netted more than 70 drug arrests. Mark Woodward, Spokesman for OBNDD says Wednesday's Public Forum in Grove, Oklahoma will serve as an avenue to further discuss drug activity, treatment needs, prevention programs, and provide dialog for addressing and eliminating criminal activity throughout northeastern Oklahoma.
"We want the good people of northeastern Oklahoma to bring questions and concerns to the table. We want to talk about matching problems with solutions to restoring drug-infested communities and removing the criminal elements that threaten neighborhoods and families in northeastern Oklahoma."
---- Mark Woodward, OBNDD Spokesman
Woodward says OBNDD will be on hand to address drug crime issues. He says representatives from area treatment and prevention services, the public schools and churches will also speak and provide assistance to those needing a place to turn for addiction recovery and support.
The Public Forum on Drug Crime and Substance Abuse is at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday October 7, 2009 at the Grove Civic Center, 1720 South Main Street in Grove, Oklahoma. It is free and open to everyone.
