Public Employee Retirement System Names New Director

OKLAHOMA CITY — The governing board of the Oklahoma Public Employees Retirement System has selected a longtime attorney as its new executive director.

The board of trustees for OPERS on Thursday named Joseph Fox as its new executive director effective Nov. 1. Fox is the longtime general counsel for OPERS and has been serving as interim executive director.

Fox is filling a vacancy left after Tom Spencer resigned to become the director of the Oklahoma Teachers' Retirement System.

Fox previously served as legal counsel for the Oklahoma House of Representatives.

OPERS manages more than $8.5 billion in assets and has more than 81,000 active and retired members.
