OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) — Oklahoma Attorney General Scott Pruitt is asking the U.S. Supreme Court to consider Oklahoma's challenge to the federal health care law.
Pruitt announced Thursday that he has filed a petition for certiorari with the U.S. Supreme Court, asking it to review Oklahoma's lawsuit that challenges the tax subsidies offered under the law.
The Supreme Court earlier this month agreed to hear a similar case out of Virginia, but Pruitt notes that in that case neither of the parties is a state.
In his petition, Pruitt says it's important for the court to consider the implications for state sovereignty.
Pruitt maintains the tax subsidies don't apply to the federal exchange. A federal judge ruled in favor of Oklahoma's lawsuit, and an appeal is pending in circuit cou
