TULSA, Okla. (AP) — Prosecutors are seeking a delay in a preliminary hearing for two men charged in a Tulsa shooting spree that left three people dead and two others wounded.
Prosecutors filed a request to delay the scheduled May 30 hearing for Jacob England and Alvin Watts. The men are charged with first-degree murder, shooting with intent to kill and malicious harassment in the April shootings.
Authorities claim the men intentionally targeted black people — an allegation that England's attorney denies. A judge has entered not-guilty pleas on behalf of England and Watts.
In their motion to delay the hearing, prosecutors say they haven't yet received reports from the state medical examiner on the three victims. A judge has not yet ruled on the request to delay the May 30 hearing.
