Plenty of Growth in Store for the Tulsa Botanic Garden (Formerly the OK Centennial Botanical Garden)

On this installment of our show, we welcome back Dr. Todd Lasseigne, President and CEO of the Tulsa Botanic Garden (which is the new name for the nonprofit facility formerly known as the Oklahoma Centennial Botanical Garden). Back in December, as Dr. Lasseigne tells us, his organization proudly announced a twenty-five-year master plan, which envisions developing some 60 acres of gardens at the Tulsa Botanic Garden site over the next quarter-century, with the site's remaining 110 acres to be maintained as an untouched expanse of natural beauty. (The Tulsa Botanic Garden is located about eight miles northwest of downtown Tulsa; that is, about 1.5 miles west of the intersection of North 52nd West Avenue and West 43rd Street North.) Dr. Lasseigne describes what exactly the execution of this master plan will entail, as well as how it was drawn up in the first place. He also speaks about various other attractions --- both current and forthcoming --- at the Tulsa Botanic Garden, and about the crucial cultural/educational/social role that all botanical gardens can play in contemporary life. (You can visit the Tulsa Botanic Garden website here.)
