Pipeline Explodes in Pittsburg County, No Injuries

KIOWA, Okla. (AP) — Officials say an explosion and fire along a pipeline near Kiowa in Pittsburg County burned a barn and hay but caused no injuries.

Spokeswoman Sandra Longcrier for Enable Midstream Partners says the blast was caused by a rupture in the pipeline. She says the cause of the blast was not apparent but that there appears to be nothing suspicious.

Kiowa is about 15 miles south of McAlester in southeastern Oklahoma.

The pipeline was initially identified by the Oklahoma Corporation Commission as belonging to Enogex. Enable Midstream Partners was created in May with the merger of Enogex and CenterPoint Energy.
