Pipeline Bomb Update

By AP

Okemah, OK – Okla. man due in court for gas pipeline IED

OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) A 40-year-old Seminole County man arrested for allegedly attaching an improvised explosive device to a natural gas pipeline in Oklahoma is due in federal court for a hearing.

FBI Special Agent Clay Simmonds says the hearing for Daniel Wells Herriman is scheduled for 10 a.m. Tuesday.

The FBI arrested Herriman on Friday after the Konowa man called 911 and said he placed the IED on the pipeline.

Court documents do not list an attorney for Herriman.

A complaint filed in U.S. District Court says the IED was found attached to the gas pipeline at the Enerfin Resources site near Okemah last Wednesday. A bomb squad removed and disarmed the device.

Enerfin is operated by Enogex, a subsidiary of Oklahoma Gas and Electric Co.
