Oklahoma City, OK – AT&T Oklahoma donates calling cards to soldiers
OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) AT&T Oklahoma is donating 3,600 calling cards to Oklahoma National Guard soldiers deployed in Afghanistan and Kuwait.
Gov. Mary Fallin held a ceremony at the state Capitol on Wednesday to thank the company for its gift to members of the Oklahoma National Guard's 45th Infantry Brigade Combat Team.
Oklahoma's Adjutant General, Maj. Gen. Myles Deering, says the soldiers will be able to use the cards for the duration of their deployment overseas.
More than 3,000 members of the 45th were activated this summer and deployed to Kuwait and Afghanistan. It was the largest deployment of the Oklahoma National Guard since the Korean War.
The soldiers are scheduled to return in the spring.
