TULSA, Okla. (AP) — The University of Oklahoma has announced plans to phase out its doctor of pharmacy training program in Tulsa and consolidate it at the OU Health Sciences Center in Oklahoma City.
College of Pharmacy Dean JoLaine Draugalis said this fall's 22 new OU-Tulsa pharmacy students will continue their courses at the OU-Tulsa Schusterman Center campus until their spring 2018 graduation. But starting with the fall 2015 semester, all new students will attend the college's Oklahoma City campus.
Draugalis told The Journal Record that the regional demand for pharmacy courses has been met and enrollment has declined at both the Oklahoma City and Tulsa campuses.
The college will maintain a Tulsa presence through fourth-year student rotations in clinical, hospital and retail pharmacy settings.
