Performance Oklahoma Presents Composer David Maslanka

American composer David Maslanka was a special guest artist of the University of Central Oklahoma’s College of Fine Arts and Design; the composer and his works presented in a series of workshops and performances featuring UCO faculty and students, March 10th through the 13th at the School of Music, the Radke Fine Arts Theatre and Mitchell Hall Theatre.  The residency centered around the UCO Wind Symphony's performance and Oklahoma premier of Maslanka’s newly composed work “Remember Me” featuring UCO's Professor of Cello, Tess Remy-Schumacher,  Professor of Theatre Arts, Robert McGill and Director of Bands, Brian Lamb in the final of three concerts.

Internationally recognized,  David Maslanka has served on the faculties of the State University of New York at Geneseo, Sarah Lawrence College, New York University, and Kingsborough Community College of the City University of New York, and as a guest composer at more than 100 universities, conferences and music festivals; his music performed routinely around the world. 

In this special program. we'll hear performances of Maslanka's works offered in three concerts during his visit, as well as commentary from the composer and UCO music faculty!
