Performance Oklahoma: Oklahoma Virtuosi Chamber Orchestra

Oklahoma Virtuosi

A brand new chamber orchestra of string instrumentalists with harpsichord was founded in Oklahoma City last season, the musicians collaborating as a standing, conductor-less ensemble and offering the orchestra's inaugural concert on Sunday, February 12th at 2pm at the city’s St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church. The concert features two beloved works from the Baroque string repertoire, the Brandenburg Concerto No. 3 in G Major BWV 1048 by Johann Sebastian Bach and "Le quattro stagioni," "The Four Seasons" of Antonio Vivaldi. We’ll learn more about the founding and mission of the ensemble, its plans for its first complete season of performances, and the program from the ensemble's music director Tomasz Zieba and we’ll meet one of its members, violinist Angelica Pereira, who joins violinists Sophie Ro and Elizabeth Venegas as a soloist in the Vivaldi.

This show will air Saturday, September 9, 8pm on Classical 88-7, KWTU.
