Performance Oklahoma - The OKC Philharmonic with Alexander Mickelthwate & Andrew von Oeyen

The Oklahoma City Philharmonic welcomed conductor Alexander Mickelthwaite and pianist Andrew von Oeyen on Saturday, November 19th, the concert featuring Masquerade (2013) by Anna Clyne, the Piano Concerto in a minor, Op 54 by Robert Schumann and the Symphony No. 3 in a minor, Op 44 by Sergei Rachmaninov.

German born conductor Alexander Mickelthwate is the Music Director of the Winnipeg Symphony Orchestra. Since his appointment in 2006, Alexander has played a pivotal role in the development of the orchestra, which culminated in a highly successful and critically acclaimed performance at Carnegie Hall in May 2014 as part of the "Spring For Music Festival." Pianist Andrew von Oeyen makes his fourth visit with this performance, a favorite among Philharmonic audiences. Having recently signed with Warner Classics, his debut CD on the label will release in January of 2017 and features the PKF Prague Philharmonia and works by Camille Saint-Saëns, Maurice Ravel and George Gershwin!

This program airs Saturday, December 17th, 8pm on Classical 88.7 HD-1.
