Performance Oklahoma - Ensemble Schumann: Southeastern Oklahoma State U's Musical Arts Series

Joined in a lively and colorful trio, together since 2005, the members of Ensemble Schumann appeared as guests of Southeastern Oklahoma State University's Musical Arts Series, the concert presented on Thursday, October 27th at the University's Fine Arts Recital. Oboist Tom Gallant, violist Steve Larson and pianist Sally Pinkas have performed in notable concert halls across America and have appeared the Tanglewood, Ravinia, Lucerne, Spoleto and Mostly Mozart Festivals. In this program, the trio offer significant works in the repertoire for oboe, viola and piano including the Adagio and Allegro by their name-sake Robert Schumann, as well as a selection from Max Bruch's Eight Pieces, Op 83, the Schilflieder, Op 28 by August Klughardt and the Kegelstatt Trio, K 498 of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart.

Now in its 43rd season, the Musical Arts Series at Southeastern Oklahoma State University offers the community of Durant and southeastern Oklahoma a series of concerts each year, held usually on Thursdays at 7:30pm and always free to the public and is supported by the National Endowment for the Arts, Oklahoma Arts Countil, Steger Piano Institute, and the Clark and Wanda Bass Foundation.

This program airs Saturday, November 26th, 8pm on Classical 88.7- HD-1.
