Performance Oklahoma - Brightmusic Chamber Ensemble Concert 3

Performance Oklahoma returns to the airwaves in this new Fall season with a brand new lineup of programs showcasing the high caliber, richness and variety of classical music performances taking place across our state. We'll begin our journey together with the Brightmusic Chamber Ensemble now marking their 14th season and offering their fifth chamber music festival this past June celebrating "The Music of Vienna."

Over the next four weeks we’ll hear all four concerts presented at the Festival and this week, we'll enjoy Concert 3, given on Sunday, June 12th, all performances taking place at 7:30pm at St. Paul’s Episcopal Cathedral in downtown Oklahoma City. First piano quartets by Mozart and Brahms, both in the key of g minor bookend the third program, significant and pivotal works in the genre of chamber music with piano, and in between the two, another piano quartet in a minor key, the early one movement work written by a young Gustav Mahler absorbing the influences of both Mozart and Brahms; the quartet rediscovered during the 1960s.

This program airs Saturday, September 24th, 8pm, on Classical 88.7 HD-1.
