Performance Oklahoma - Brightmusic Chamber Ensemble - Celebrating 14 Seasons, Concert One

Following the tradition of elegiac Russian piano trios, Shostakovich wrote his secondwork in the genre during the waning years of World War II in memory of his dear friend Ivan Sollertinsky, some fifty years after Tchaikovsky had completed his trio for piano and strings in memory of Nikolai Rubinstein. Both works are featured on the season opening concert presented by the Brightmusic Society of Oklahoma on Tuesday, September13th at St. Paul’s Cathedral in downtown Oklahoma City. Violinist Gregory Lee, cellist Jonathan Ruck and pianist Amy I-Lin Cheng are the featured performers in this program entitled "Russian Revelations" from the Brightmusic Chamber Ensemble, now marking its 14th season with a series of five concerts presented on Tuesday evenings at 7:30pm and will present an annual Chamber Music Festival in June.

This program airs Saturday, November 12, 2016, 8pm on Classical 88.7-HD1.
