Performance Oklahoma: Brightmusic Chamber Ensemble

Concert 5 "Old and New"

Marking its 15th anniversary year, the Brightmusic Society of Oklahoma presented the final concert of its regular season on Tuesday, April 17th at St. Paul’s Cathedral in Oklahoma City, the program offering a newly commissioned work by University of Central Oklahoma composer in residence Samuel Magrill, “Five Bagatelles for Flute, Violin, Cello and Piano, and featuring special guest flutist Mira Magrill, one of the finest young flutists in America today and one of the best and most enthusiastic interpreters of her father’s works as well as the Quartet for Piano and Strings in B-flat Major, Op 41 by Camille Saint-Saens and the Quintet for Piano and Strings in A Major, D 667, Die Forelle by Franz Schubert. The evening’s performances were also offered as a tribute to Mae Ruth Swanson and to honor one of Oklahoma City’s great chamber music series of the past, the Civic Music Association.

This program airs Saturday, May 12th at 8pm, on Classical 88.7 HD-1.
