Performance Oklahoma - Brightmusic Chamber Ensemble

Concert 4 "Romanticism Revisited"

Romanticism’s essential spirt praised imagination over reason, emotions over logic and intuition over science and allowed for a creative body of works of great sensibility and passion in literature and in music, a history revolving between elements of classicism and romanticism, cherishing freedom, movement and an association with the natural world and landscape. The Brightmusic Chamber Ensemble offered in the fourth concert of their 14th season presented on Tuesday, March 7th at St. Paul’s Cathedral in OKC, a program revisiting three works inspired by the spirit and nature of this movement, the Trio in g minor, Op 63 by Carl Maria von Weber, the Trio Élégiaque No. 1 in g minor by Sergei Rachmaninov and the Piano Quartet in c minor, Op 13 by Richard Strauss. The concert's featured musicians are violinist Gregory Lee, violist Mark Neumann, cellist Jonathan Ruck, flutist Parthena Owens, and pianists Amy I-Lin Cheng and Ruirui Ouyang.

This program airs Saturday, April 1, 8pm on KWTU 88.7 HD-1.
