Performance Oklahoma - Ariel Quartet - Chamber Music in Oklahoma

Ariel Quartet

Characterized by its youth, brilliant playing, soulful interpretations, and its performances of music from memory, the Ariel Quartet has quickly earned a glowing international reputation. Founded in Israel in 2001, when its members were young students, the Ariel Quartet have been playing together ever since. Recently awarded the prestigious Cleveland Quartet Award, the Quartet serves as the Faculty Quartet-in-Residence at the University of Cincinnati’s College-Conservatory of Music, where they direct the chamber music program and perform their own annual series of concerts. Performing widely in Israel, Europe, and North America, with two record-setting Beethoven cycles last season, the ensemble continues to astonish with its performances of complete works by memory and has remained committed to performing extensively in Israel. Appearing as the guest ensemble of Chamber Music in Oklahoma in the fourth concert presented this season, on Sunday, March 5th at Christ the King Catholic Church in Oklahoma City, the Quartet offered a program featuring the Quartet in d minor, Op 76, No. 2 by Franz Joseph Haydn, Between the Sacred and the Profane for String Quartet by Menachem Wiesenberg and the Quartet in F Major, Op 96 (American) by Antonin Dvo?ák.

This program airs Saturday, March 25th, 8pm on Classical 88.7 HD-1.
