Tulsa, OK – All bench warrant cases and citations for failure to pay will incur an additional 35 percent penalty/collection fee for unpaid citations.

This collection fee represents the portion the City of Tulsa was once responsible for by paying a third party to collect on unpaid citations. Violators will now incur the cost with a 35 percent penalty fee on top of the unpaid citation.

The new fee is an assessment allowed by State Statute, Title 11, Section 22-138, and City Ordinance Title 23, Chapter 1.

Example: If a citizen receives a fine of $100 and has not paid the fine, they are now responsible for the $100 fine, plus a 35 percent penalty. In past years, the City of Tulsa was responsible for the penalty fee to collections.
