Parker Will Appeal Conviction

Tulsa, OK – Wife of former Okla. warden requests appeal bond

OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) A former Oklahoma prison warden's wife who was found guilty of helping an inmate escape 17 years ago is asking an appeals court to allow her to remain free while she appeals her conviction and sentence.

Attorneys for Bobbi Parker filed a motion Tuesday with the Oklahoma Court of Criminal Appeals asking that Parker be released on bail while her case is on appeal.

A Greer County jury convicted Parker on Sept. 21 of assisting a prisoner to escape and recommended a one-year prison term. District Judge Richard Darby remanded her to the custody of the sheriff after denying her motion to remain free on bail.

Parker was convicted of helping convicted killer Randolph Dial escape from the Oklahoma State Reformatory in 1994.

Formal sentencing is set for Oct. 6.
