OU President to Announce Results of Fraternity Investigation

OU Press

NORMAN, Okla. (AP) — University of Oklahoma President David Boren is expected to announce the results of an investigation into a fraternity after members were caught on video engaging in a racist chant.

Boren will announce the results of the university's probe into the local chapter of the Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity during a news conference Friday.

Boren already severed ties with the fraternity, shuttered its house and ordered two students expelled after a video surfaced earlier this month of members engaging in a chant that referenced lynching and used a racial slur to describe how black students would never become members.

An attorney representing the local chapter, Stephen Jones, said Wednesday an agreement was reached with university officials that calls for no more expulsions of fraternity members.
