TULSA, Okla. (AP) — Oklahoma State University's Center for Health Sciences has purchased a former fire station in Tulsa and plans to convert it into a crime scene investigation laboratory.
The center's president said the lab will be used by students in the forensic sciences graduate program. Land surrounding the station can also be used as the number of programs increase.
The City of Tulsa auctioned the property last week. Oklahoma State's health sciences center bought the building for $135,000. It is adjacent to the OSU Center for Rural Health.
Instructors will be able to build mock crime scenes for students to investigate.
The Center for Health Sciences hosts the College of Osteopathic Medicine, School of Forensic Sciences, School of Biomedical Sciences and School of Health Care Administration.
