OSU Employee Shoots Himself at Stillwater Hospital

STILLWATER, Okla. (AP) — Authorities say a 53-year-old Oklahoma State University employee fatally shot himself in a restroom at a Stillwater hospital.

Capt. Randy Dickerson says the man walked into the emergency room at Stillwater Medical Center at about 12:30 p.m. Wednesday. Dickerson tells the Stillwater NewsPress (http://is.gd/latRMe ) that the man then went into a public restroom and shot himself in the chest.

The hospital says staff members pressed a panic button and the emergency room went into lockdown as a precaution after the shooting.

OSU says the man, whose name hasn't been released, worked at the school's botanic garden.
