Voters in Osage County in northeastern Oklahoma waited in line for nearly three hours after the polls closed because of long lines and a shortage of poll workers.
Oklahoma Election Board spokesman Bryan Dean says a sheriff's deputy raced across the county Tuesday night with lights and sirens to bring the county election board secretary to the precinct in the eastern part of the county to help get the lines moving.
Dean says election officials started receiving calls Tuesday afternoon about lines that were more than two hours long, but says the county "literally didn't have anybody else to send."
Dean says the long wait time underscores the state's need for more local precinct workers.
Everyone was able to vote by 10 p.m.
