One woman is dead and another is in jail following a Sunday car crash on I-244 near Yale Avenue in Tulsa. The Oklahoma Highway Patrol says a car driven by 28-year-old Kristen Lynn Smith of Tulsa bumped another vehicle on the expressway. That impact caused a SUV to roll four times before it came to rest on its wheels.
A passenger in that vehicle, 64-year-old Maria Lopez, was dead at the scene. Lopez and two other passengers were ejected from the tumbling SUV.
Meanwhile, the other car sped away. Tulsa Police, however, located Kristen Smith and her car about five miles away from the crash scene. A booking report says she was intoxicated.
