Oklahoma's 7 Electors Formally Select Trump

Facebook

Oklahoma's seven Republican electors have formally selected Donald Trump as the country's next president.

The electors gathered Monday in the governor's Blue Room and each cast their vote for Trump and Vice President-elect Mike Pence.

One of the electors, state Rep. Bobby Cleveland, wore a red "Make America Great Again" hat as he cast his vote for Trump.

The Associated Press previously surveyed all seven electors and found little displeasure with Trump, although each acknowledged they had been contacted numerous times by people encouraging them to change their vote.

Oklahoma also has a state law prohibiting electors from voting for anyone other than the state's election winner.

In all, 538 electors are gathering in state capitols nationwide to vote for president.
