OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) — Two of the top Republican candidates for the U.S. Senate seat being vacated by Tom Coburn say they've raised at least $800,000 since announcing plans to run.

Current U.S. Rep. James Lankford and former House Speaker T.W. Shannon both reported Monday they raised more than $800,000 during the quarter that ended on March 31. Federal campaign finance reports on campaign fundraising and expenditures during the first quarter are not due until April 15, but both released their totals early.

Lankford already had more than $514,000 in his campaign account at the end of 2013 that can be transferred to his U.S. Senate campaign.

Shannon is prohibited from transferring funds from his state House campaign, although he can refund contributions to donors and have them contribute to his U.S. Senate campaign.
