The Oklahoma Employment Security Commission released figures today showing the Oklahoma unemployment rate remains unchanged at 4.7% of the workforce. That is identical to the stat released last month. The OESC's John Carpenter says, in fact, this the seventh year in a row the rate has remained unchanged from August to September.
The rate is down, however, from a year ago when it was at 5.6%. There is an estimated 1.78-million people in the Oklahoma workforce.
