Okmulgee, OK – Oklahoma troops notified of possible deployment
OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) The Oklahoma Army National Guard says five units have been told to begin preparing for deployment to Afghanistan, Iraq and the Horn of Africa.
Officials said Friday the Oklahoma National Guard received a notification of sourcing, which will affect 448 Oklahoma soldiers.
Among those receiving notice are the Okmulgee-based 120th Engineer Battalion's Headquarters Company and Company A based in Okemah. Officials say they may mobilize in 2012. Members of the 1220th Engineer Company based in Muskogee may deploy to Afghanistan in 2013.
