OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) — Officials say wildfires throughout Oklahoma have scorched more than 48 square miles.
Oklahoma Forestry Services says a fire in Logan County that killed one person and destroyed more than 40 structures has been contained. It has burned 3,250 acres.
The agency says no structures have been lost in a fire near Quinlan that has burned 14,100 acres.
Oklahoma Forestry Services has two task forces assigned to another wildfire in Woodward County that has burned more than 13,700 acres. The National Guard has also provided helicopters to drop water.
A red flag warning remained in effect for western Oklahoma Wednesday due to dangerous wildfire conditions in the area. Forecasters say temperatures will approach 100 degrees with low humidity and strong winds.
