Henryetta, OK – Henryetta sailor killed in Afghanistan

HENRYETTA, Okla. (AP) A 21-year-old sailor from Henryetta has been killed while serving in Afghanistan.

Rogers Funeral Home in Henryetta confirmed Tuesday it is handling arrangements for Petty Officer 2nd Class Tony Randolph.

Henryetta High School football coach Kenny Speer says Randolph died Monday after the vehicle he was in struck a roadside bomb.

The Department of Defense has not confirmed the identity of seven American troops killed in separate incidents in Afghanistan on Monday, including two who died in a roadside blast in southern Afghanistan.

Speer says Randolph was a 2005 graduate of Henryetta High School who deployed to Afghanistan in the spring from a naval base in Virginia.

Speer says Randolph was an all-district lineman for Henryetta who also competed as a powerlifter.
