The Oklahoma Legislature is scheduled to honor current members of the Oklahoma National Guard and those who were members of the 45th Infantry Division that was known as the Thunderbirds.
The ceremony is to be held during a joint session of the state House and Senate on the floor of the Oklahoma House of Representatives starting at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday.
The 70th anniversary of the liberation of the World War II Dachau prison of war camp, the 20th anniversary of the Murrah Federal Building bombing and the 10th anniversary of the Oklahoma National Guard's response to Hurricane Katrina will be commemorated.
