Oklahoma Museum Displaying Matisse Works

Wikipedia

An exclusive exhibition featuring the works of Henri Matisse and other influential artists will be on display in Oklahoma through the middle of next month.

The exhibit, "Matisse in His Time: Masterworks of Modernism from the Centre Pompidou, Paris," closes its run Sept. 18 at the Oklahoma City Museum of Art.

The museum is the only venue in North America to host the display and the only one outside Europe.

The exhibition includes more than 50 paintings, sculptures and works on paper by Matisse, as well as works by Pablo Picasso, Juan Gris and Georges Braque, among other artists.

Museum officials say the exhibit has drawn visitors to Oklahoma from all over the world, including Canada, Brazil and Mexico.
