Oklahoma Man Convicted in Abduction Trial

PINEVILLE, Mo. (AP) — A 33-year-old Oklahoma man has been convicted of abducting and assaulting two women from southwest Missouri.

The Joplin Globe reports that Johnny Davis Junior of Nowata, Oklahoma was found guilty  in Pineville, Missouri of two counts of first-degree assault and two counts of kidnapping.

A sentencing hearing is scheduled for May 1st.

Davis was accused of abducting the two women from southwest Missouri on December 26th, 2011, and taking them to Oklahoma, where they said he assaulted them.

He was convicted in Craig County, Oklahoma in 1999 of rape and served 11 years of a 30-year sentence before being released in 2010.
