OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) — The Oklahoma Health Care Authority is set to discuss a preliminary report on the state's Medicaid program and how it could be improved.
HCA Chief Executive Officer Nico Gomez is to present preliminary findings from the report by Utah-based Leavitt Partners to the board on Thursday..
Oklahoma Gov. Mary Fallin rejected federal funding for a Medicaid expansion last year, leaving almost 200,000 newly eligible Oklahomans without coverage. The HCA runs Medicaid within the state and hired Leavitt Partners earlier this year to look into ways to expand health coverage without boosting Medicaid enrollment.
HCA spokeswoman Jo Kilgore says no details of the preliminary report will be available until the meeting. The full Leavitt Partners report isn't expected until June.
