Oklahoma Fire Investigators look into Fatal Blaze

STILLWATER, Okla. (AP) — Fire marshals are investigating what caused a house fire that killed a man.

Firefighters responding to calls about 11 p.m. Thursday found the man in the hallway of the residence. Officials were waiting for the Oklahoma Medical Examiner's Office to release the man's name.

A police spokesman didn't immediately return a call on Saturday.

Family members say the man who lived there was disabled and wheelchair-bound. One of two sons who lived with the man had been gone less than an hour when the fire erupted.

Neighbor Jeff Leggett says he knocked on the door and tried to enter to see if anyone was inside, but he was stopped by the heavy smoke.
