OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) — Fee raising measures that were approved by the Oklahoma Legislature last session have gone into effect.
Residents ranging from felons to aircraft owners will see higher fees due to the increases that went into effect Wednesday.
The maximum fee for pre-sentence investigations that's charged to felons has doubled from $250 to $500. Fingerprinting and forensic science improvement fees have also doubled from $5 to $10. Felons and people convicted of traffic violations will have to pay the fees.
Lawmakers also approved a 50 percent increase for aircraft registration fees. The cost of registering an aircraft is dependent on the type and weight of the aircraft.
