Oklahoma Drilling Rig Count Drops

OU

HOUSTON (AP) — Oilfield services company Baker Hughes Incorporated says the number of rigs exploring for oil and natural gas in the U.S. fell by six this week to 1,751.

The Houston company said in its weekly report Friday that 1,378 rigs were exploring for oil and 372 for gas. One was listed as miscellaneous.

Of the major oil- and gas-producing states, Oklahoma and Texas each lost three rigs and Kansas lost two. Colorado added one.

West Texas Intermediate crude priced at Oklahoma's Cushing hub closed the week down one and a half percent to $93.96 a barrel.
